About HypnoBirthing

  • HypnoBirthing® is a comprehensive childbirth education program that helps you release fear and approach birth with calm, clarity and confidence.

    Through guided relaxation, breathing techniques, visualization and self-hypnosis, you’ll learn how to work with your body during labor — not against it. The approach is grounded in evidence-based principles and designed to support both you and your birth partner.

  • Yes. HypnoBirthing supports all types of birth experiences — medicated, unmedicated, induced, or cesarean. The breathing and relaxation techniques help you remain calm, informed, and confident no matter how your birth unfolds. These tools often continue to be useful well into postpartum and parenting.

Course Details

  • Yes, if possible! Partner participation helps you both prepare for birth together. If your partner can’t attend, you’re welcome to bring another support person instead.

  • The course includes five sessions, each about 2.5 hours long.

  • Your Course Includes:

    • Five weekly classes (2.5 hours each)

    • HypnoBirthing — The Mongan Method textbook by Marie Mongan

    • Parent spiral workbook including relaxation scripts, birth preferences template and more

    • Rainbow Relaxation MP3

    • Support and guidance throughout your journey

    Investment:

    $425 per couple
    Private sessions begin at $600 per couple.

  • Absolutely! You’re welcome to contact me anytime during the course or as your birth approaches. And I always love hearing your birth stories afterward, too!

  • Any time after your first trimester is great (some even start sooner). Most parents begin between 16–35 weeks, but there’s no strict timeline. Starting earlier simply gives you more time to practice.

  • Yes! I offer both group and private classes. Group sessions are held via Zoom, and private classes can be held on Zoom or in-person if you’re local to the Chapel Hill area. Please reach out through the contact form for more details.

  • A comfortable pillow or bolster (or a cozy spot to sit), water, a snack, your textbook and your spiral workbook are all great to have on hand.

  • No, the class follows a five-week format by design. The techniques take time and practice to build, and the gradual pace helps with fear release and confidence. Even if you start later in pregnancy, we’ll still move through the five-week format together.

Results and Expectations

  • Birth sensations vary for every mother, and no method can guarantee a completely pain-free experience. However, with consistent practice, many families report significantly reduced discomfort, shorter labors, and fewer interventions. HypnoBirthing equips you with tools to stay relaxed and focused.

  • Consistency makes a big difference! The more you practice between classes, the more natural the techniques will feel when it’s time to birth your baby.

Booking and Policies

  • Choose your preferred course dates, add the item to your cart, and check out. You can pay in full by credit card or reserve your spot with a $75 deposit (the remaining balance is due before the first class by cash, check or credit card).

    If you’d rather not pay by credit card, just reach out through the Contact Form and I’ll be happy to arrange payment by cash or check. Once you’re enrolled, I’ll send over the waiver form to complete before our first class together.

  • I accept cash, check and credit cards.

  • Some insurance providers reimburse childbirth education expenses. It’s always worth checking with your provider to see what they offer.

  • If you miss a session, you’re welcome to join that same class in a future series at no additional cost.

  • If you need to cancel before the course begins, you may request a refund of your tuition minus the $75 non-refundable deposit, which secures your spot and covers class materials.

    Once the course has started, refunds are not available. If you’re unable to complete the series after attending the first class, you are welcome to transfer into a future session at no additional cost.

    If the instructor needs to reschedule a class, a makeup session will always be provided.

About Sunrise Birth and Wellness, LLC

  • All classes are personally taught by me, Holly Cavolowsky, certified HypnoBirthing Educator and Founder of Sunrise Birth and Wellness.

  • After becoming a mother and experiencing the impact HypnoBirthing had on my own pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey, I felt called to share this approach with other women. Sunrise Birth and Wellness was created to support mothers through one of life’s most transformative seasons — with calm, knowledge, and confidence.
